Winter and Snow Songs
The Snowkey Pokey (Sung to: "Hokey Pokey")
You put your right mitten in,
you take your right mitten out,
you put your right mitten in
and you shake it all about.
You do the snowkey pokey
and you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about.
Additional verses:
You put your left mitten in . . .
You put your right boot in . . .
You put your left boot in . . .
You put your hat in . . .
You put your snowself in . . .
I'm a little snowman (Sung to the theme I'm a little teapot.)
I'm a little snowman short and stout
Here are my buttons
And here is my hat
When the hot sun comes out
I can't play
Slowly I will melt away
s with the melting melting snow.
Zipper up your coat
Zipper up your coat
Put your mittens on
I am going to plat out side!
Scarf around your neck,
Step into your boots
I am going to plat out side!
It is snowing everywhere
Better cover up your hair
Open up the door
Step into the snow
I am going to play out side!
I Love Snow (Sung to: " Three Blind mice")
I love snow, I love snow.
Soft, white snow; Soft, white snow.
It falls on the ground so soft and white.
Sometimes it falls all through the night.
Did you ever see such a beautiful sight
As soft white snow?
Sing this Snowflake (Sung to: " teddy bear teddy bear")
Snowflake, snowflake falling down, (flutter hands down)
Twirling, twirling to the ground. (twirl to the ground)
Softly, lightly on my nose, (touching nose)
Snowflake, snowflake icy cold! (fold arms and shiver)
The Mitten Song
Thumbs in the thumb place, Fingers all together.
This is the song we sing in mitten weather.
When it's cold, it doesn't matter whether,
Mittens are wool or made of finest leather.
Thumb in the thumb place, fingers all together!
This is the song we sing in mitten weather.
Snow is falling (sung to Clementine)
Snow is falling, snow is falling
Snow is falling all around
If you listen, you won’t hear it
See it glisten on the ground
Snow is melting, snow is melting
Snow is melting all around
What had happen to our snowmen
It’s a puddle on the ground
The mittens on my hands (Sung To: 'Wheels on the Bus')
The mittens on my hands
Will Keep me warm, Keep me warm, Keep me warm
The mittens on my hands
Will Keep me warm
All Winter long!
The boots on my feet
Will Keep me warm ,Keep me warm, Keep me warm
The boots on my feet
Will Keep me warm
All Winter long!

Ten warm mittens, hanging on the line – poem
Ten warm mittens, hanging on the line,
One blows away and then there are nine.
Nine warm mittens, one without a mate,
A squirrel carries one away and that leaves eight.
Eight warm mittens, just eight not eleven,
One gets buried in the snow and that leaves seven.
Seven warm mittens, which one do you pick?
I'll pick the red one and that leaves six.
Six warm mittens, put one on to try.
Then you take it from the line and that leaves five.
Five warm mittens, we had ten before!
A fluffy bunny needs one and that leaves four!
Four warm mittens, two for you and two for me,
I lost one on the ski slope and that leaves three.
Three warm mittens, looking very new,
One falls into the mud and that leaves two.
Two warm mittens, drying in the sun,
A bird comes down and snatches it and that leaves one.
One warm mitten, what good is one?
A little mouse can have a bed, and that leaves none!

Five little snowmen standing in a row
Each with a hat and a brightly colored bow
Five little snowmen dressed up for a show
Now they are ready where will they go?
Wait ‘til the sun shines, wait ‘til the sun shines
Then they will go
Down through the fields with the melting melting snow.
Four little snowmen standing in a row…
Three little snowmen standing in a row…
Two little snowmen standing in a row…
One little snowman standing all alone
He had a hat and a brightly color bow.

Now he is ready where will he go?
Wait ‘til the sun shines, wait ‘til the sun shines
Then he will go
Down through the fields with the melting melting snow.
