Aiken Drum 

“His mouth was made of a banana… his is eyes were made of oranges”.

 

Aiken Drum is a popular Scottish folk song dating back to the 18 century. It teaches the names of body parts and clothing by replacing them with different foods. This activity is sure to be a favorite activity in your classroom.

Aiken Drum’s eyes, mouth, ears and nose are mentioned in the narration parts of the song. Link this song to a study of “Our 5 Senses.”

This activity set includes:

1 Aiken Drum’s felt set includes: Aiken Drum’s grey figure, pants, shirt, hair, face, orange slices eyes, banana mouth, pickle ears, pizza nose, potatoes shoes and a ladle.
